Domaine des Malandes was established by Lyne Marchive in 1973 with 7-hectares of vineyards handed down from her parents. She grew the vineyard holdings over the following decades and passed on the reigns to her children in 2018. Today the 29-hectares of organic Domaine des Malandes vineyards are located in Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru (including this Vau de Vey, Fourchaume, Cote de Lechet among others) and in the Grand Cru of Vaudesir and Les Clos.
This 2017 Vau de Vey 1er Cru shows precision and classic Chablis bones. Crunchy yellow fruits, oyster shell, grille, marmalade and burnt honey aromas lead to a slick palate with savoury flavours of wet stone/minerality, lemon, toasted hazelnuts and vague salinity. Excellent structure and length, this is an outstanding example of a left bank premier cru.
